Nicholas T. Kaptur

Nicholas T. Kaptur of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the age of 85.  He was born September 15, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to Nicholas and Marie  (nee: Kozlowski) Kaptur.

Nicholas was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" Kaptur for 61 years.  Loving father of Debbie (Archie) Myers, Mark (Kim) Kaptur, Dennis (Patricia) Kaptur, Michele (Michael) Nellis, Nicholas Kaptur, and the late Victoria Kaptur.  Devoted grandfather of Tommy, Jeff, Nichole, Jimmy, Mark, Matt, Michael, Nicole, Matthew, Katelyn, Nicholas, Isabella, Jude, Jacob, and the late Aaron.  Proud great-grandfather of 15.  Dear brother of Kenneth (Rosemary), the late Rita, the late Donald, the late Raymond, and the late Howard.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nick loved his family and friends with all his heart.  He would love nothing more than to have a barbecue and hang out until a card game broke out.  He loved to watch and follow all the Detroit sports teams and was a big fan of western movies.  He used to love to go bowling, fishing, and hunting.  Nick also loved going up to the lake to relax and re-center himself in nature.  He used to volunteer his time and energy by being an active member of the Knights of Columbus.  Nick was a jolly guy who was easy to like and love; everyone that he touched in this life will miss him dearly.  He was a hard worker in life as well.  Nick worked for Ford Motor Company until he retired in September of 1996, after which he had many years to spend plenty of time with his family and friends. 

Visitation for Nick will be on Monday, December 16, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Service at David Wysocki Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren.  Instate, Tuesday, December 17, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 38750 Ryan Road, Sterling Heights.
