Gary Lee Van Genderen

Gary Lee Van Genderen, age 76, of Royal Oak, Michigan passed away July 5, 2022.

Gary was the beloved husband of Susan Janiczek; loving father of Kristin (Arif Jivan) Van Genderen and Kevin (Kate) Van Genderen; and dear brother of Jean (the late Richard) Corey and the late John Van Genderen.

Gary was a graduate of The University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Zeta Psi Fraternity, and Eastern Michigan University. Gary was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. His professional career saw him doing work for the Atomic Energy Commission and teaching chemistry at Eastern Michigan University, University of Michigan – Dearborn, and Washtenaw Community College.

Gary absolutely LOVED to tell stories, the longer they were, the more he loved them. He would trap people with a good one for forever if he could. He was an avid collector of books, tools, rocks, and toys. He also liked to dabble in amateur photography. One of his favorite places to be was vacationing up north.

Visitation Friday, July 8, 3 – 8 p.m. at David Wysocki Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren. Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, also at the funeral home.
