Donald Maladecki Obituary

Donald (Don) Joseph Maladecki, 88, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Don was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on November 5, 1933, and later moved to Warren, Michigan in 1962. He graduated from St. Ladislaus High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 in the 4th Infantry Division. His work ethic continued as a UAW member and employee of Chrysler for over 35 years.

Loving and devoted husband of 61 years to Dorothy and dear father to Donna (Robert), Doreen (Ken) and Duane (Karen). Faithful grandfather to Danielle (Josh), Wyatt (Megan), Jessica, Erica, Ethan and Jason. He is preceded in death by his sister, Constance Wilkelis, and leaves behind many beloved family members and friends.

Don enjoyed spending his free time bowling, fishing, traveling, singing, golfing, hunting and gardening. As a founding member of the St. Louise De Marillac Catholic Church in Warren, he served in the Knights of Columbus for 60+ years and proudly sang in the church choir each week. For decades he was known for hosting his famous kielbasa-making parties and baking homemade bread for loved ones. He proudly and fully celebrated his Polish heritage year-round and loved dancing to a good Polka.
