Waydine Jeanette Bayer born April 6, 1925 to parents, Wyatt Jacob and Zadie Ethel Bayer. Waydine was born in Nashville, Tennessee. After several times temporarily living in Detroit, Michigan, the family finally moved to Detroit when Waydine was 17 years old. She graduated her senior year from Pershing High School in Detroit. She worked for Unisys Corp. for 37 years where she met her future husband Irwin John Hartung. They were married on October 28, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Highland Park, Michigan. They moved to Warren, Michigan and then in 1973 joined the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the UMW (United Methodist Women) at the church all those years. Waydine and Irwin had no children, but friends of the Salajka family with 4 children. Waydine was proceeded in death by her brother, Wyatt, and his wife, Eleanor. Waydine had three nephews, Kenneth, Curtis, and Eric, their spouses, great-nephews and nieces, and one great-great nephew. She liked the outdoors, trees, birds, flowers, and cooking. She said she always felt blessed to have known the Salajka Family (Henry and Dolores, Mark (Edith), Susan (Jaime), Patricia (Calvin), Kathleen (Joseph)) and her church friends.
Visitation Friday, October 13, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at First United Methodist Church, 5005 Chicago Road, Warren, Michigan.
