Teresa (Kaczynska) Szczomak

Teresa Kaczynska Szczomak was a caretaker at her core. Whether at a fun event or during a trying time she was always there with her skillful homemade cooking to make sure no one went hungry. In life she enjoyed foraging for mushrooms, gardening and trekking through the peacefulness of her Palms escape. The pride she had for her grandson Wesley provided her with a great source of joy and could only be surmounted by her unwavering faith. Born in Poland on May 28, 1948, Teresa was no stranger to adversity, and this was evident in her wealth of knowledge and resolution.

As we mourn her physical absence, we celebrate the eternal peace she has found in the arms of God. At this time of mourning let everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her remember her for the laughter she shared, excellent sense of humor, the love she gave and the memories that will live on in our hearts. All having known her were better for it.

Teresa passed away on December 24, 2023, peacefully in her home. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Andrew, her two daughters, Juliette (Evan) and Monica, and her grandson Wesley; the loving sister of Zofia, Maria and Jadwiga. Preceded in death by her brother Stanisław and sister Ewa.

Visitation Thursday, December 28, from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Rosary Service at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. Instate Friday, December 29, from 9:00 a.m. until the 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Rene Goupil Catholic Church, 35955 Ryan Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
