It is with heavy hearts and profound reflection that we announce the passing of Ronald "Tommy" Hostinsky, a cherished soul who journeyed from this world on July 16, 2025, at the age of 82. Ronald, born on March 10, 1943, was a steadfast presence within his family, community, and those fortunate enough to know him. He lived a life rich with love, memories, and personal triumphs, and will be deeply missed.
A proud graduate of Pershing High School, class of 1962, Tommy spent 38 devoted years working for the Chrysler Corporation, specifically at Lynch Road Assembly and Dodge Truck Assembly, where he left an indelible mark with his dedication and industry expertise. Beyond his remarkable career in manufacturing, he also shared his passion for sports as a seasonal employee with the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings, further illustrating his deep-rooted love for Detroit's vibrant sporting culture.
Tommy was a kind soul known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. Family reunions in Pennsylvania were always a highlight, as were the delightful holidays that filled his heart with joy. Whether enjoying a good meal, relishing in the simplicity of a drive-in movie theater, or taking part in church festivals, he brought cheer and warmth to every occasion.
Tommy's spirit shone brightest through his relationships and cherished moments spent with loved ones which could not be reflected more than his marriage with his beloved wife Shirley. Tommy and Shirley got married in 1966 and since then it's been a life filled with love and devotion for each other and the family they built together.
As a devoted father, Tommy proudly raised three sons—Ronald Allen (Eve), Keith, and the late Scott Hostinsky—encouraging them to pursue their passions and instilling in them values that will carry through generations. His legacy continues through four adoring grandchildren: Steve (Rachael), Rachel, Thomas, and Isabelle Hostinsky, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Tommy was also a man of simple pleasures, often found swimming or playing wiffleball with family, highlighting his playful spirit and love for togetherness. He had an unwavering fondness for breaded veal cutlet and Better Made potato chips, and often enjoyed slots at the casino, which added a hint of excitement to his life.
A Visitation will be held in his honor at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home in Warren, MI, on July 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Service celebrating his life and legacy will take place at Our Lady of Grace Parish (formerly St. Cletus Catholic Church) on July 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
In dedicating our memories to Ronald "Tommy" Hostinsky, let us remember him not just for his years but for the love he shared and the kindness he spread. He has moved on into the arms of his beloved parents, Thomas Andrew Hostinsky and Helen Hostinsky, who await him joyfully. His absence leaves a gap in the hearts of many, but his teachings and spirit will forever inspire those he leaves behind.
