Roland Francis Gamicchia, known affectionately to many as "Gammy" or "Snowman," passed away on December 20, 2025, in Warren, Michigan, after a brief and unexpected illness. Born on April 7, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Roland's warmth, generosity, and loving nature left a significant impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Roland was a devoted family man, celebrating over 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judith Gamicchia, who predeceased him. He was deeply loved by his three children, Ann (Michael) Cornacchia, Janet (Garnet) Siedmiorka, and Robert Gamicchia. Roland cherished the time spent with his grandchildren—Alexandra, Hannah, C.J., Jasper, and Louis—regularly creating memories through card games, board games, chess, and outings that emphasized the importance of family togetherness.
His vibrant personality shone through in every interaction. Those close to him remember Roland as a good cook and a great mentor, always eager to lend a helping hand or offer guidance. He found joy in a variety of hobbies, including camping, golfing, fishing, snow blowing, playing poker, and traveling. His commitment to being there for family and friends epitomized the very essence of his character—a giving man whose love knew no bounds.
Roland’s legacy is enriched by the love and respect he received from many friends and family throughout his life. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by all whose lives he touched.
Roland is reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Judith Gamicchia, his parents, John and Eleanor Gamicchia, his brother, Alan Gamicchia, and his grandson, Joshua Siedmiorka, all of whom he deeply missed. His legacy of love, perseverance, and joy lives on through his surviving family members and the countless friends whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on January 2, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, located at 29440 Ryan Rd, Warren, MI 48092. A service will take place the following day, January 3, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM, after a period of visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. Interment will follow the funeral service at Christian Memorial Gardens West Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
