Paul Dezio, a used car wholesaler whose jokes could make even the grumpiest of souls crack a smile, passed away on November 9, 2025, after a brave battle with kidney failure. Born in the bustling city of Detroit, Michigan on August 3, 1964, Paul sprinkled a little bit of joy wherever he went, and his laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
Paul’s sense of humor was one of his defining traits, and he had a way of bringing laughter to any situation. He especially loved spending time with children and his great-nieces. Whether he was hunting in northern Michigan or feeding squirrels in the backyard, Paul found joy in life’s simple moments.
A proud sports enthusiast, Paul dedicated many weekends to watching football with family and friends. And while he loved the thrill of the game, it wasn't uncommon for him to pause the action to share an interesting tidbit he had learned about history, clearly displaying his love for knowledge—even trying out for a chance to be a contestant on Jeopardy!
He will be fondly remembered by his beloved mother, Janet Dezio, his two wonderful sisters, Annette (Mike) DeClark and Laura (John) Jakob, as well as his nieces—Christine Jakob, Leah DeClark, and Janet Dezio—and his nephew, Joseph DeClark. Unfortunately, he is now reunited with his father, Daniel Dezio, his brother, John Dezio, and his nephew, Matthew Jakob, all of whom surely welcomed him with open arms and maybe even a few good-natured ribbings.
Join us in celebrating the vibrant life of this remarkable man! A Memorial Gathering will be held on November 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM until the Memorial Service at 3:30 PM at the Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, located at 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, MI 48092. This will be a great opportunity to come together, share our fondest memories of Paul, and perhaps even swap a few of his famous jokes—laughter is truly the best medicine!
Though he may have departed this world, Paul’s spirit and humor will stay with us forever, reminding us to seize the day, crack a joke, and always, always feed the squirrels!
Please share a memory with the family hear on Paul's online guestbook.
Donations in his honor may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
