Neil C. Kapera

February 19, 1960 — July 11, 2025

Neil C. Kapera, a remarkable man renowned for his unwavering spirit, athleticism, and boundless love for his family, traversed the earthly realm on July 11, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on February 19, 1960, Neil epitomized resilience, intelligence, and an infectious sense of humor that could brighten the darkest of days.

A person of numerous talents, Neil initiated his journey through education at Oak Park High School, from which he graduated in 1978. His professional life was marked by an exceptional career in sales where he took immense pride in being recognized as the best salesman. More than just a seller of goods, he was a remarkable leader who nurtured the potential of his employees, instilling in them the values of hard work and dedication that he held so dear.

Residing in Michigan, Neil had a profound fondness for the beauty of his surroundings—his love for nature, beaches, and sunsets was mirrored in the life he created with his beloved wife, Jackie Kapera. Together, they celebrated the simple joys of life, as reminisced in the cherished memories of those who knew them. Jackie recalls the early days of their relationship, navigating the scenic routes of Northern Michigan, armed only with maps and an adventurous spirit, long before the era of cell phones overshadowed that delightful exploration.

Neil’s heart swelled with pride for his two sons, Kyle and David. Their accomplishments were his proudest achievement, illuminating his essence as a devoted father. David remembers fondly the moments spent together on the soccer field, where Neil coached him with passion and unwavering support, establishing a bond through shared victories and lessons. Kyle, ever curious, treasured learning from his dad about life's myriad topics, like history, music, sports, and movies, fostering a close-knit relationship that will endure the passage of time.

In addition to his family, Neil was surrounded by siblings who enriched his life: Kathleen Kapera, Brian (Sarah) Kapera, Marlene (Michael Hamme) Kapera, Keith (Katherine) Kapera, and Kevin (Angela) Kapera. The bonds they shared were deeply woven into the fabric of their lives, adding joy and depth to each gathering.

Neil's personality shone with brilliance; he was the smartest person his family had ever known, capable of answering more Jeopardy questions than the contestants themselves. His wit and humor were legendary, often making himself laugh to the point of turning red, always uplifting those around him. A spiritual and family-oriented man, he embodied strength—both physical and emotional—making an indelible impact on all those privileged enough to know him.

Beyond his professional and familial pursuits, Neil reveled in a multitude of hobbies. From his beloved Tigers to engaging evenings filled with trivia and music, his zest for life was boundless. He was a passionate sports enthusiast who loved hockey, softball, and golf, finding peace and satisfaction in caring for his lawn, a true embodiment of his love for man's connection to nature. Neil would also fill his time with collecting Vinyl Records, reading, writing, photography, and travelling all over Michigan.

Though he is survived by a loving family, including his wife Jackie, sons Kyle and David, and siblings, Neil is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Grace Kapera, as well as his siblings Gary and Janet Kapera. Each memory lingers as a testament to a life adorned with love and laughter.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his remarkable journey during Visitation on July 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home located at 29440 Ryan Rd, Warren, MI.

As we bid farewell to Neil C. Kapera, we honor not just the man he was but the legacy he leaves—a legacy rich with love, laughter, and the indomitable spirit of a man who truly lived all his days. The world has dimmed a little in his absence, yet his light will forever guide us.
