Mary Lou Karwowicz, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Warren, Michigan. Born on May 15, 1929, in Bessemer, Michigan, she lived a life characterized by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering spirit that touched the hearts of those around her.

Mary Lou dedicated herself to her family and community. She built a house and made it a home with her husband, Eugene, in Warren, Michigan for the past 64 years. She worked as an automotive assembly line worker at Chrysler and later served as a lunch lady at Lamphere High School in Madison Heights. In these roles, she made a lasting impact on countless lives, always greeted with a smile for the children she served and affection beyond measure for her hard work and dedication.

A proud member of the St. Cletus / Our Lady of Grace parish, she participated regularly in church activities and was one of the cherished members of their lady's church group. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and guidance throughout her years.

Mary Lou had a special way of making everyone feel loved and appreciated. Her sweet demeanor and thoughtful nature left a lasting impression that will forever be remembered by her family and friends. She had a talent for cooking, especially her beloved Italian dishes, with spaghetti being a family favorite. Her love of food extended beyond the kitchen as she enjoyed playing the lottery and visiting local casinos, where she found joy and excitement. Additionally, she cherished traveling with her family, exploring various states across the USA and creating unforgettable memories together.

Among her proudest accomplishments was the home they built in Warren, Michigan, where she and her late husband, Eugene Karwowicz, created a loving space that nurtured their family for an impressive 64 years. Her remarkable journey was marked not only by the physical structures she constructed but by the bonds she nurtured within those walls.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Renee Karwowicz, and her dear sister, Rose Dollar. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Karwowicz, and daughter Joan Karwowicz. She is also reunited with her parents, Bert and Adele Savant, her brothers Peter, Anthony, and Joseph Savant, and her sisters Julie Gajos and Grace Steagerman, all of whom cherished her vibrant spirit and loving heart.
