Gloria June Stanley, a beloved friend, dedicated professional, and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on January 2, 1943, Gloria was a kind and gentle soul whose life left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Gloria enjoyed a distinguished career as a Corporate Fleet Manager at Henkel Corporation, where she dedicated over 32 years of excellent service before her retirement in 2003. Her work in Human Resources was not just a job; it was a passion that she approached with pride. Gloria placed employees first, forging lasting relationships with her coworkers that were steeped in kindness and laughter. Often reminiscing about her time at Henkel, Gloria shared countless stories that highlighted her commitment to her profession and the joy she found in her interactions.

Outside of her impressive career, Gloria delighted in the company of friends and cherished every opportunity to gather with them for dinner and heartfelt conversation. Her favorite pastime included watching television, particularly enjoying the Hallmark station and romance series like "Virgin River." Gloria’s vibrant personality shone brightly, characterized by her wonderful sense of humor and her capacity to lend a sympathetic ear to those in need. She embodied the spirit of reassurance with her favorite saying, "This too shall come to pass," which brought comfort to many.

Gloria had a deep affection for her pets, considering them family. She expressed this love through her gentle care and companionship, highlighting her nurturing nature. Her passions extended to her involvement with the Presbyterian Women’s Committee at her church, where she played an active role in various community events, including the annual soup and salad dinner and assisting in the church nursery.

In addition to her community service, Gloria loved the thrill of playing slots at casinos, making numerous trips to Las Vegas and local Michigan venues with friends. Whether playing games like Pinochle or Pictionary for hours or enjoying the festive traditions of Christmas and coloring eggs for Easter, Gloria approached life with exuberance and joy.

Gloria's proudest accomplishments included her exemplary tenure at Henkel and the purchase of her first home in Royal Oak in 1975, where she provided care for her mother and brother until their passing. She remained in that cherished home until her own health required additional support in later years.

She was preceded in death by her father, John McDonald; her mother, Mary Hoge; her brother, Leonard McDonald; and her sister, Joyce Lockwood. Gloria will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched. A friend once remarked, "God sends angels to us, and Gloria was certainly one of them. She was such a beautiful person inside and out with a big heart." As we remember Gloria June Stanley, we celebrate a life filled with kindness, laughter, and unwavering compassion. Heaven is a bit brighter now with her in it.

A Memorial Service for Gloria will be held on January 17, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Warren located at 3000 12 Mile Road, Warren, MI 48092.
