Elaine Carol Cantu, affectionately known as “Granny,” passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Madison Heights, Michigan, at the age of 87. Born on January 31, 1938, Elaine lived a life filled with love, family, and dedication to her passions.

Elaine was a shining example of care and compassion, known for her unwavering support to those she loved. She touched many lives and was especially cherished as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her role as a doting grandmother to Corey Harper stands at the heart of many fond memories; Corey often reminisces about the cherished moments they shared, treasures that will forever warm his heart. Elaine’s nurturing spirit and loving presence leaves a remarkable legacy, woven into the tapestry of her family’s lives.

A proud graduate of Hazel Park High School, Elaine ventured into the professional world and became a successful business owner as a 1/3 partner and operator of Puritan Magnetics, a business that thrives to this day, and is a testament to her hard work and dedication. Elaine was known for her strong values and integrity; her approach to life was characterized by a commitment to doing things by the book. She wore her heart on her sleeve, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who crossed her path.

Elaine had a love for simple joys, often spending her free time watching the L.M.N. and Family Feud, finding happiness in these small pleasures. Her laughter, kindness, and unyielding spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved grandson, Corey Harper; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ryder, Aiden, and Axel; her brother, Michael Bucchare; her nephews, Michael and Vince; her nieces, Nicole, Angie, and Lisa; and her sister-in-law, Darline Bucchare. Elaine is now reunited with her cherished daughter, Sherry Cantu-Harper; her grandson, Kevin Harper; her loving parents, Bertha and Vincent Bucchare; and her siblings, Prudence and John Bucchare, who have preceded her in death.

A visitation in honor of Elaine will be held on December 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a sharing service starting at 4:00 p.m. at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, located at 29440 Ryan Rd, Warren, MI 48092.

Elaine Carol Cantu’s beautiful life was a blessing to us all. She is now in a better place, and though her absence leaves a profound heartache, her love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Her legacy of compassion and strength endures in the hearts she touched.
