Donald (Don) Joseph Maladecki, 88, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Don was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on November 5, 1933, and later moved to Warren, Michigan in 1962. He graduated from St. Ladislaus High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 in the 4th Infantry Division. His work ethic continued as a UAW member and employee of Chrysler for over 35 years.

Loving and devoted husband of 61 years to Dorothy and dear father to Donna (Robert), Doreen (Ken) and Duane (Karen). Faithful grandfather to Danielle (Josh), Wyatt (Megan), Jessica, Erica, Ethan and Jason. He is preceded in death by his sister, Constance Wilkelis, and leaves behind many beloved family members and friends.

Don enjoyed spending his free time bowling, fishing, traveling, singing, golfing, hunting and gardening. As a founding member of the St. Louise De Marillac Catholic Church in Warren, he served in the Knights of Columbus for 60+ years and proudly sang in the church choir each week. For decades he was known for hosting his famous kielbasa-making parties and baking homemade bread for loved ones. He proudly and fully celebrated his Polish heritage year-round and loved dancing to a good Polka.

For those wishing to honor Don, please join us between 2:00-8:00pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, 29440 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan. There will be a Rosary Service at 3:00 p.m. and a combined Prayer Service and Knights of Columbus Service at 7:00 p.m. A Catholic Mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 15, 2022, at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church in Warren. The Family requests that everyone in attendance to please wear a mask at all visitations and services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Louise De Marillac Catholic Church , The Wounded Warrior Project , or The Manresa Jesuit Retreat House in Bloomfield Hills.
